- Applied twice daily, this helps stimulate the circulation and improve drainage from the affected area, thus reducing the level of inflammation.
- Start with a cold application – A cold pack or a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel works well.
- Keep this on the painful area for 2 minutes, then replace it with a heat pack or hot water bottle (not too hot!) for just 1 minute.
- Keep swapping the applications for 10 – 15 minutes. Make sure you always finish with the cold one
